Menu: Session Info

Display Session ID, joining instructions and End a Session

The Session Info Menu is used to display the current Session ID so participants can join, a simple slideshow to help participants find and use the CCS Cards VFE App. It is also used to End a Session.

> ID: todgiif

Every VFE session has a unique 7-character alphanumeric identifier called a Session ID. It is always displayed in lowercase for easy reading, but is NOT CASE SENSITIVE, so participants can enter it as upper or lowercase.

Click on the Session ID to display it full screen for participants. Click the X button to return to the VFE boards.

Tips:

  • As participants join, notifications will appear on top of the slideshow screens so it is easy to see who has successfully joined before closing the screen
  • Clicking the “Copy” button (see red arrow) copies the Session ID to your computer’s clipboard so it can be pasted where needed — such as a Chat window, email or on a VFE board. (Note: in version 1.01 of the VFE, clicking the Session ID in the menu automatically copied it to the clipboard. This no longer occurs.)

> App Download Links

Brings up a slide displaying two QR codes that link directly to the FREE app in the AppStore and Google Play to make it quick and easy for participants to find and download the app to their mobile device. Click the X button to return to the VFE boards.

Tip: the QR codes are also included in the sample invite document with QR Code links

> App Joining Screens

Brings up a mini slideshow of the home and joining screens on the CCS VFE Cards App for facilitators to guide participants in how to join a session and open the session cards.

Click through the slideshow using the white arrows or by clicking on the thumbnails down the left side of the screen. Click the X button to return to the VFE boards.

> App How-to Screens

Brings up a mini slideshow beginning with the CCS Cards principles, followed by sequence of mobile screen shots to quickly explain the use of the CCS VFE Cards App at the start of a session.

Click through the slideshow using the white arrows or by clicking on the thumbnails down the left side of the screen. Click the X button to return to the VFE boards.

> End Session

Ends a Session.

Access to the session on the CCS VFE Cards app will remain possible by participants for up to 48 hours after the Session was started. Once a session is ended, it can be Resumed from the Previous Sessions list in the Manage Sessions area. Resuming a session retrieves the last state of the session and retrieves the last shared update from participants. A session can be resumed up until 48 hours from when it was started. After this time, the option to Resume is replaced by Review.

> End and Lock Session

Ends a Session and disables joining.

A “locked” session does not prevent participants from that session continuing to access their virtual pack of CCS Cards and sharing to the VFE. However, no new users will be able to join the session.  To re-enable joining, a facilitator simply Resumes the Session and “Enable Joining” from the Manage Menu. To prevent both sharing and joining after a Session is ended, set both to disabled before ending.
