Add a Note

Add notes anywhere on a board

The Note tool is used to add text notes on VFE boards.

Notes boxes have a fixed-width approximately the same width as cards displayed on the VFE. While they can be used anywhere on a board, they are ideal for adding notes to accompany chosen cards.

You can change the size and font used across all Title and Note (and Annotation) boxes from the Styles Menu.

Adding a new Note box to a VFE Board

There are 2 ways to add a new Note box:

  • using the Note toolbar icon, or
  • right-clicking anywhere on a board and selecting “Add Note” from the pop-up menu.

Using the Note toolbar icon

  4. Left click

Paste to Note
If your computer’s clipboard is currently loaded with a text you have copied from within the VFE or from another application, the right-click menu will include the option “Paste to Note”. Clicking this will create a new Note box filled with the clipboard text.

Repositioning a Note box

The solid purple drag-bar above the text entry part of the Notes box, is used to click-and-drag the Note box around the board. The bar will fade out a few moments after you have clicked away from the Note box. Hovering your cursor over an existing Note box will bring up the drag-bar.

Editing a Note box

You can edit the contents of a Note box any time by simply clicking in the text entry section and editing the notes as required.

Duplicating, Copying and Deleting a Note box

Right-clicking on the purple drag-bar brings up a pop-up menu with four options:

  • Duplicate: creates a duplicate of the Note box.
  • Copy: puts a copy of the note text in your computer’s clipboard for standard copy-paste functions (Paste with Control-V or Command-V)
  • Copy to Big Board: creates a duplicate of the Notes box over on the Big Board
  • Delete: permanently deletes the entire Notes box
  • Zoom and Centre: the Note box will immediately take front-and-centre on the VFE screen.
